A trusted advisor on high-stakes regulatory and commercial disputes, Brendan brings deep experience across financial regulation, consumer law and privacy matters. He primarily assists clients on significant ASIC, ACCC and other federal regulatory proceedings, internal investigations and complex commercial disputes.
Experience
Through engagements with a range of federal regulators and large-scale proceedings in the Federal Court and every state’s Supreme Court, Brendan is known for his clear judgment, strategic focus and commitment to efficiently achieving exceptional outcomes for clients.
Before joining Lander & Rogers, Brendan was a Senior Associate in the Disputes group of an international law firm. He also completed an Associateship at the Federal Court.

Brendan's recent experience includes acting for:
- the ACCC in its landmark misleading and deceptive conduct proceeding against a major retailer in relation to "Prices Dropped" promotions*
- ASIC in multiple regulatory investigations relating to the collapse of the First Guardian managed investment scheme. Former ASIC Chair, Joe Longo, described the matters as among the "most complex and resource-intensive investigations" ASIC has ever undertaken
- Optus in an unconscionable conduct proceeding commenced by the ACCC*
- Suncorp, before the Competition Tribunal in a successful application to reverse the ACCC decision to block ANZ and Suncorp bank merger*
- Qantas and DP World: response to significant cyber incidents*
- NAB: Banking Royal Commission*
- Coles: Fair Work Ombudsman prosecution regarding salaried employees’ entitlements*
