Eleni is a Senior Associate in the Family and Relationship Law team. Prior to joining Lander & Rogers, Eleni practised exclusively in the family law jurisdiction at a national law firm in Melbourne.
Eleni brings valuable insight into the way family law matters are approached both in and out of court. Before entering private practice, Eleni worked as an Associate to two judges of the Federal Circuit Court of Australia. This experience means she understands how Judges conduct and determine complex family law proceedings. For clients, this translates into practical and invaluable insights, enabling her to provide realistic advice about court outcomes and a considered strategy for complex litigation.
Eleni understands that family law disputes can be emotionally and financially difficult for clients. She is committed to providing clear, measured and practical advice, with a focus on resolving matters through negotiation and agreement wherever possible. Where litigation is necessary, Eleni is a skilled advocate who guides clients through each stage of the court process.
Eleni practises across all areas of family law, including parenting, property, financial agreements, child support, spousal maintenance, intervention order matters and adult adoption. She has particular experience in complex parenting matters, including relocation and family violence issues, as well as financial matters involving corporate and trust structures, valuation disputes and overseas assets.
Eleni's clients value her ability to cut through complexity and deliver advice that is direct, practical, and easy to understand. FAQs
What options are available to resolve my matter without going to Court?
Most of our clients will have their matters resolved outside of court. The most common way of reaching a negotiated outcome with your former partner is by way of mediation. There are a number of advantages of mediation, which avoids the costs and stress of court proceedings and allows the parties to have some control over the outcome. A third-party mediator facilitates discussions between the parties and their legal representatives over the course of the day and if an agreement is reached, it can be formalised by consent orders which becoming binding following approval from the court.
